38 Weeks

After being on bed rest for 6 weeks Blake, my doctor and I decided that it would be best to go ahead and have a c-section on Monday January 30th. The fluid level has stayed consistent because of the bed rest but Dr. Morgan doesn't think the baby would gain anything by staying in one more week. So January 30th it is! We have to be at the hospital at 6 am Monday morning and will have the c-section at 8am. We are so excited!

Christmas 2011

We celebrated Christmas in Nashville with my parents this year and had a great time. I was still on bed rest and Blake and my parents took great care of me! We kept up our annual tradition of church at Brentwood United Methodist (yes, I left bed rest to go to church- I figured it would be okay), driving around to see Christmas lights, eating stone crabs and watching Christmas Vacation! We woke up Christmas morning to open gifts and then Mom cooked a wonderful turkey dinner!

Here I am at 34 weeks!

An Early Christmas and Bed Rest

Blake and I celebrated our own Christmas a few days before the actual holiday. This has been something we have been doing since we started dating. Here are a few pictures from our early Christmas!

Here I am at 33 weeks with Ellen from Christmas Vacation

We had a nice night together celebrating Christmas but I was unfortunately put on complete bed rest earlier in the week. I went in for my 33 week appointment and they discovered that my amniotic fluid was very low. They are going to monitor me every week until the baby is born to make sure that it doesn't get any lower. We are praying that the situation does not get any worse and for the safe delivery of our baby.

Getting Ready for Baby

We moved into my brothers house a few weeks ago and started putting the nursery together! Blake has been working hard!

Griffin Paul Newton

Billy and Regan welcomed their first child, Griffin Paul, on November 22nd, 2011. He was born a few days before Thanksgiving, so Blake and I drove up to see him the day after he was born and then spent the holiday with his family. He was adorable!! So alert and had the cutest blond hair! Here are a few pictures of little Griff!!

Here is a picture of me on Thanksgiving Day. I was 29 weeks!

Baby Shower

My best girlfriends were nice enough to throw me a wonderful baby shower on October 22nd, 2011. It was a beautiful fall day and I was blessed to have my friends and family there. The theme was my "Little Pumpkin" and everything was perfect! Blake's parents joined us for the weekend, as well as, Sherry, Carol, Mandy and the twins! Here are some pictures from the shower!

Unfortunately, one special person was not able to make it to the shower. Sadly, my Grandma Bitsy passed away on Thursday October 20th. She was so excited about the baby and it breaks my heart to know that she didn't get a chance to meet her. It is comforting to know that she was looking down on us that day. We love and miss you Grandma!!!

22 Weeks

Here is a picture of me at 22 weeks! Getting bigger!!

It's A Girl!!

We found out on September 12th, 2011 that we were having a little GIRL!! To say that I was excited would be an understatement!! I had a feeling throughout my pregnancy that we were having a girl, so I was overjoyed to have those feelings confirmed! Blake was very excited (and shocked) as well. We were also blessed to learn that she looked completely healthy. God is SO good and we are very thankful for this healthy baby girl!

We decided to share the news with our parents together. Bill and Jody were nice enough to make the trip down for our little celebration!

18 Weeks and Starting to Show

Starting to get a little belly!

13 Week Ultrasound

I was lucky enough to see our little one again on August 1st, 2011 for a 13 week ultrasound. We didn't know we were going to have an ultrasound at this appointment, so unfortunately Blake missed out. I was amazed to see that our peanut was starting to look like a little person. It was an emotional experience and brought tears to my eyes! I really wish Blake could have been there! Luckily, we were able to get a few good pictures to bring home to Dad!

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July at my lake house in Lake Lure, NC. We had a very relaxing weekend and it was great to get away. The car ride was a little rough since I have had a lot of morning sickness! But we made it and had a great time with my parents. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.
The otters decided to eat the boat cushions for lunch!

6 weeks

Here is the first of many belly pictures. I was 6 weeks pregnant here!

Our 1st Ultrasound

We saw our precious baby for the first time during an ultrasound on June 16th, 2011. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced. We were able to see a very strong heartbeat (166 bpm). The doctor said everything looked great and that we had a healthy baby. It was such a relief and we felt truly blessed. I will remember this day for the rest of my life.

Here is Baby Newton's first picture!

Sharing the News

We were excited to share the news with our families after confirming the pregnancy with our doctor. We planned on doing an early Father's Day and very belated Mother's Day celebration with my parents and thought it would be a great time to tell them about their 1st Grandchild! They had been waiting for this day for a long time and were SO happy!

She's just a little excited! Can you tell?!

Unfortunately, we were not able to share the news with Blake's family in person. We could have waited until our next trip to Rochester but we were too excited to keep the news to ourselves. We told them via Skype and they were so surprised! They thought we were going to tell them that we bought a house :). This news was much more exciting! What made it even more exciting is that Regan and Billy had announced a few weeks earlier that they were expecting their 1st child as well. Now Blake's parents were going to have 2 Grandchildren born only a few weeks apart!
